A couple of interesting news articles from the past week or so.
The first tells of Pope Benedict XVI baptizing a convert from Islam at the Vatican during an Easter Vigil mass. On the heels of the recent tape released from Osama bin Laden alleging a connection between the Pope and the renewed controversy over cartoon depictions of the prophet Muhammad in the European press, one wonders what the ripple effect on Muslim-Christian relations will be?

The second news story is about Mikhail Gorbachev’s recent admission of Christian faith during a visit to the tomb of Saint Fransis in Assisi. Apparently, although confessing atheism, he was a secret believer all along. Makes you think that there is much more going on in the world than meets the eye and for me highlights the fact that prayer for global leaders is incredibly important.
